Seaboard M is a 24-key modular Seaboard with DNA connectors that allow you to connect several units together for an almost-seamless playing experience. The glide ribbons will not be completely seamless across devices. Seaboard 2 is a 49-key Seaboard with full-size keys and precision frets. It is built in an aluminum chassis for durability, and includes expression faders and an X/Y pad.

Seaboard 2 is the new name for Seaboard RISE 2. The two are functionally identical. If you own Seaboard RISE 2, your instrument will continue to work as expected and receive any scheduled firmware updates. While we transition to the new name, Seaboard 2 owners may see their instrument referred to as Seaboard RISE 2 in our software. This won’t cause any issues.

Seaboard 2 is designed and built to last, with hard-wearing materials used throughout its construction. The silicone used for Seaboard’s keywave surface has been proven over more than a decade of our own experience and that of our community. Yes, Seaboard 2 works with all major DAWs and soft synths, as well as hardware synthesizers via the MIDI Out port. It works best, and provides the greatest level of expression, with ROLI instruments and other MPE-compatible software.

No Seaboard 2 does not feature DNA Connectors and therefore will not connect to Piano M. Seaboard M, however, does include DNA Connectors and can be snapped onto Piano M to create a hybrid control surface.

49-key Seaboards have always proven to be the most popular with our community, and offer the right amount of range for most playing styles. We have no plans to reintroduce a 25-key version at present, but the Seaboard M offers 24 miniature Keywaves in a more compact package.
