ROLI Dashboard

ROLI Dashboard is an application that allows you to customize BLOCKS, the Seaboard RISE, and the Seaboard GRAND to integrate with your workflow. When you use ROLI Dashboard to configure the settings of ROLI hardware, these settings will persist in the internal memory of the hardware even after the application is closed or the product is powered off. When using a lightpad BLOCK, you can choose from a number of different “apps” to load on to your hardware which will give you access to various layouts and control surface styles. These apps can then be edited for your specific use-case. These edits can be saved as “modes”.

Midi CC Mode

When connecting one of the Control Blocks (Loop Block, Live Block, or Touch Block) with ROLI Dashboard you have the option of using either the default settings or using “MIDI CC Mode”. When MIDI CC Mode is toggled on, you can customize the color, behavior, and MIDI CC values of each button. In this way you can create useful custom mappings for your favorite Digital Audio Workstations, plugins, or even hardware.

Hide Notes

When connecting a Lightpad Block with ROLI Dashboard, some of the “app” options can highlight the notes of a specific scale. The most common app for playing notes in scale is the “Note Grid” app. When using the note grid app in a 5X5 grid, you can select the scale that you want to be highlighted and you also have the option of using “Hide Mode”. When you turn on Hide Mode, all of the notes that are outside the selected scale will be eliminated - completely filling the surface with notes that are in-scale. This not only prevents you from playing a wrong note but also increases the range of the instrument so that you can play with more octaves.
