How do you know you played it right? For anyone learning an instrument on their own, that question never really goes away. But now, your piano can actually tell you. AI Music Coach (beta) is live in the ROLI Learn app. With ROLI Airwave watching your hands and ROLI Piano (or Piano M) tracking every note, your piano has eyes, ears, and a voice; it's a real-time coach offering conversational feedback and guidance.

It spots the slips, marks the wins, and learns the way you learn. No more practicing in the dark, wondering if you got it right. We initially launched AI Music Coach as a closed beta back in February. In the few months since then, we've been busy making improvements to the Coach with helpful feedback from our beta testers. We're now pleased to share that AI Music Coach is open to all Airwave users — just update and open the Learn app and have a play.

How AI Music Coach works

AI Music Coach is built into the ROLI Learn app and proactively gives you feedback as you play, making it easier to progress toward your piano goals. It'll help you keep track of finger placement, even when you haven't realized you've made a mistake, or guide you step by step as you master a song, adjusting the pace to match your skill level.

It’s super easy to use, too; just talk to it. Say “Hey Roli, give me a song to play” or “What should I practice today,” and it’ll guide you. You can even let AI Music Coach make your practice sessions a little easier by asking it to slow down, loop a section you’re playing, or switch to any of the playing views — Cascade, Rainbow, ColorNote, Classic. And don’t worry, AI Music Coach is also available in 40 different languages, so you can talk to it however feels most comfortable for you.

AI Music Coach is just one part of the ROLI Piano System — the only all-in-one piano learning method that actually sees your hands as you play and offers real-time feedback and guidance.
