In this performance, ROLI expert Heen combines ROLI Piano with Airwave to create his ultimate expressive keyboard setup. Watch to see how he combines all four of ROLI Piano’s Dimensions of Touch (Strike, Press, Glide and Lift) with an additional six Dimensions of Air courtesy of Airwave, moving from traditional piano sounds to out-there electronics and back again with intuitive ease.
Starting his performance with a Kontakt piano patch, Heen demonstrates the responsiveness of ROLI Piano’s new semi-weighted action, before kicking things up a notch with a synth lead that takes full advantage of the Glide function to add expressive vibrato. Airwave enters soon after, as Heen opens up the filter on a pad layer with Air Raise, fades in glittery-sounding SFX with Air Slide, and uses Air Flex to modulate his chorus and phaser effects.
Throughout, Heen uses ROLI Studio Player's Smart Chord mode and unique, Multi-Layer Arpeggiator to augment his playing and showcase the full range of ROLI Piano’s RGB illumination.
