As an educator who encourages others to find confidence through creative expression, Isabella believed that learning to play the piano would help her take a more active role in guiding children from pre-school to high school as they explored music. "It almost serves as a universal language. They're always singing and dancing, and I'm guiding them through that, but I would love to play a more active role in helping them express themselves through music and song, and I think playing the piano will really help with that."
Having grown up with a piano at home, Isabella had always hoped to reconnect with the instrument as an adult. “I’ve kinda beaten myself up for not sitting down and working on it,” she explains, “but I’m looking forward to learning in a new way that’s gonna be more engaging with the way I learn and think.”
Isabella started with small, achievable goals such as practicing scales and exploring the guided lessons, and various learning views to help customise her ROLI Learn experience. "I felt like I had so much to lean on while learning a piece," she remarks. Those early small wins and practice details helped her build confidence. “A little bit of effort every day made such a difference. It’s been such a joy.” As she progressed, she set more ambitious targets, including learning “In the Shallows” and "The Circle of Life" for her students.
