Back in September, I wrote to you all about how we were rolling out a new, unified ROLI brand and website — a ROLI 2.0 if you will — with a mission to “free the music” in everyone. I also teased a new platform for music interaction that would transform the company, and hopefully, the world.
Since then, we’ve been overwhelmed and appreciative of the many posts and emails from the ROLI community around what freeing the music means to you. And Airwave has launched! I just wish we could make them faster to keep up with demand, as it’s just getting better and better. Thank you sincerely for your interest, and also your patience, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on Airwave.
Since launching, we’ve also announced support for Windows, as well as support for other MIDI keyboards — not just our own. The music wants to be free. We’ve also seen Airwaves pop up in performances and videos by Andrew Huang, on stage at the O2 with Lauryn Hill, and in the setups of Jordan Rudess, Nandi Bushell, Kit Brown and Parisi, to name a few. Oh, and as an aside, we noticed T-Pain and Mark Zuckerberg were playing with some Piano M’s the other day. Thank you all!
As we increasingly think about how we’re freeing the music, over the coming months, you’ll hear from me about a series of initiatives to make it easier for anyone to access ROLI. Everyone has music inside them, and everyone should be able to fully express that music. That’s why, today, I’m super excited to share details of a very special offer we’re rolling out alongside our other seasonal offers, this time focused on students. If you are a student, or know a student, you will not find a better way into the ROLI experience.
