We've listened to the requests for various song styles from our ROLI Learner community, and this update includes songs that we know you'll love.

From iconic themes of beloved movies and video games to contemporary piano classics, jazz standards and worship songs, this diverse collection has something for every music lover, or long-time Piano M players looking to shake up their song repertoire. Here’s a closer look at what’s new.

Movie and TV soundtracks

Transport yourself to other worlds with unforgettable scores from film and television. Fans of legendary composer John Williams will enjoy "Catch Me If You Can" and "Across The Stars (Love Theme from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones)", and Doctor Who enthusiasts can channel their inner Time Lord with Ron Grainer’s iconic "Doctor Who Theme". Johann Johannsson’s Oscar-nominated pieces, such as "A Model Of The Universe", "Chalkboard", and "Forces Of Attraction" from the 2014 biopic The Theory of Everything give ROLI learners a cinematic playing experience.

We’ve also got Lionel Bart’s "I’d Do Anything" from the timeless musical Oliver!. Julian Nott’s whimsical "A Grand Day Out" (Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit) adds a nostalgic touch evoking memories of our favorite claymation characters.

Video game themes

We’re not leaving gamers behind, either– Greg Edmonson’s "Uncharted Theme" and "Nate’s Theme (Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune)”, Ari Pulkkinen’s playful "Angry Birds Theme", and Lorne Balfe’s dramatic "Assassin’s Creed III Main Title" are now available. Joel Eriksson’s stirring "Battlefield 1942 Theme" and the C418's serene "Minecraft" score provide a diverse range of gaming music to explore.

Additionally, Christopher Tin’s Grammy-winning "Baba Yetu" (Civilization IV) and revered video game music composer Yoko Shimomura’s ethereal "Dearly Beloved" from the iconic Kingdom Hearts series add immersive storytelling through gaming music.

Contemporary piano classics

If you want to build your repertoire of modern piano pieces, we have a treasure trove of contemporary piano favorites and emotive, minimalist compositions.

Italian pianist Ludovico Einaudi leads the charge with "Una Mattina", "Experience", and "Fly" each piece offering a rich, meditative experience, and Max Richter’s "A Catalogue Of Afternoons" and "Written On The Sky" invite learners to explore modern classical sounds.

Other highlights include Brian Crain’s elegant "Butterfly Waltz" and "At The Ivy Gate", as well as Philip Wesley’s evocative "The Approaching Night". For a touch of classical soul, try Alexis Ffrench’s "Bluebird" and "Wishing". Grammy-nominated Stephan Moccio’s "Fracture", "Sea Change", and "Whitby" bring even more variety to this captivating category.

Timeless Jazz and Blues standards

Step into the world of jazz with a selection of timeless standards. Duke Ellington’s classics, including "Caravan", "Do Nothin’ Till You Hear From Me", "It Don’t Mean A Thing (If It Ain’t Got That Swing)", and "(In My) Solitude" provide an opportunity to delve into swing and big band sounds. Miles Davis’ "All Blues" and Paul Desmond’s "Take Five" let ROLI learners explore new time signatures through smooth jazz melodies. Vocal jazz fans will enjoy Matt Dennis’ "Angel Eyes", a ballad that’s become a genre staple.
