28 new two-handed lessons in the ROLI Learn app

See what’s new in our latest update

Blog

Back in December, we introduced video lessons for two-handed playing to the ROLI Learn app for the first time. And the feedback from users of two Piano Ms and testers of our upcoming flagship, ROLI Piano, have been so positive that we’re already adding even more content.

The existing two handed lessons unlock for you at the end of stages one and two, and this latest batch opens up at the end of three and four. With this latest update, you’ll find 10 new songs for Stage 3 and Stage 4, and a total of 28 new lessons across both stages.

New Stage 3 ROLI Learn songs

  • Amazing Grace – John Newton

  • Let it Go — Idina Menzel

  • Yellow Submarine — The Beatles

  • Lean on Me — Bill Withers

  • Heart and Soul — T'Pau

New Stage 4 ROLI Learn songs

  • Champagne Problems — Taylor Swift

  • La Bamba — Ritchie Valens

  • Stand by Me — Ben E. King

  • Three Little Birds —  Bob Marley and the Wailers

  • Canon in D — J. Pachelbel

We've curated this new song selection to help ROLI learners explore playing with two hands in a variety of styles, and get familiar with common chord progressions that feature across countless genres, from pop and soul to jazz and rock.

With over 3 hours of content to learn with, you've got plenty of time to refine your two-handed piano playing technique with fun songs to keep you entertained and help build your musical repertoire! Along with these 28 individual lessons, there are an 5 additional song-based challenges to put your new skills to the test and feel rewarded with each note you play.

For those keeping count, there’s now a total of more than 50 two-handed lessons available in the app, and don’t forget that almost every song in the library features parts for both hands, so you won’t be short on ways to practice what you’ve learned.

Learning to play with two hands doesn't only give you great creative fulfillment — it's good for your brain too! Two-handed piano playing helps to enhance hand-eye coordination and dexterity, and increases brain function. But for us music fans, the ability to play a wider range of music from all our favorite artists, and maybe pick up the creative skills to write our own music, probably trumps all of that!

Note: Two-handed content requires either a second Piano M, or our upcoming 49-key keyboard, ROLI Piano. We currently have incredible pre-order deals on the latter, allowing you to get started with a saving of $200 / £180 / €200.
