A dynamic executive product leader, Tom has spearheaded transformations for global enterprises and launched groundbreaking ventures. He's fueled by a fervor for assembling high-performing teams and crafting products that positively influence countless lives. Holder of a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, he revels in design, indulges in chocolate, and finds solace in music.

Jessica Lowrey

People Operations & Office Manager

Jessica loves being outdoors (when the weather is nice), exploring new places, and is a keen festival goer. With a background in advertising production, she now puts her organizational skills to great use as part of the People Operations team at Luminary.

Áine Eyafa-Bilé

Talent Manager

Áine is passionate about helping people acknowledge their potential within themselves and be able to communicate that effectively with hiring managers. As the Talent Manager for Luminary ROLI, Aine brings cumulative experience in HR, recruitment and coaching. Outside of work Aine is passionate about travelling and meeting new people, having lived and worked in New Zealand and Australia. She also loves to pursue her passion for improv, singing and photography.

Joe Van Bohemen

Full Stack Developer

Joe brings his experience as a web developer from Aotearoa, New Zealand. He is keen to make an impact at Luminary by combining technical know-how and collaborative problem solving. Joe loves cycling, skiing and music.

Corey Harrower

Founder & CPO

Formerly a professional contemporary dancer, Corey works to comprehensively cohere the Luminary community. He co-directs VT's Governor’s Institute on the Arts and is passionate about activism and the discourse related to issues of gender, race, non-human animals and social justice.

Inayat Shariff

Director of Web and Platform

As a product-oriented engineer, Inayat has given form to innovative ideas at multiple early-stage startups, including heading the technology department. He uses this experience to balance the needs of Luminary's Platform resources. In his downtime, he strives to level up his bouldering and chess skills.

Roland Lamb

Founder & CEO

After high school, Roland moved to Japan to practise Zen Buddhism. He earned a degree in Classical Chinese and Sanskrit Philosophy from Harvard University. His diverse achievements led to a scholarship to pursue an MA in Design Products at the RCA. There he invented the award-winning Seaboard GRAND and ROLI was born.

Chanté Hazlewood

Talent Acquisition Assistant

Chanté has officially joined the Talent team, and she's already making waves! You'll often find her completely immersed in her own world—headphones on, volume cranked all the way up, as she devours entire albums in one sitting. When she's not vibing to music, she's diving deep into fantastical realms, flipping through pages of fantasy fiction like there’s no tomorrow. Sounds like the perfect blend of passion and imagination!

Mark Bridger

QA Engineer

With a background in QA testing for brands like Sky and Land Rover, Mark combines his experience in software testing with his passion for sound and music technology. Outside of work, when he’s not producing or DJing, Mark enjoys travelling, nature, gigs and outdoor swimming.

Aga Janowicz

Senior Software Engineer

A keen maker, Aga got hooked on coding in early teens and hasn’t looked back since. With previous experience making apps for mobile and less-mobile devices at Samsung (think TVs!), she enjoys exploring the cross-section between technology and design. In her free time, she likes to get her hands dirty with DIY projects and ponder the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.

Federico Cicchi

VP of Engineering

Federico’s passion for technology began at six when he received a Commodore 16 for Christmas. With a background in software engineering and AI, he has 20 years of experience in software development and management. He is a martial arts enthusiast, a piano player and an advocate of slow travel, enjoying the journey as much as the destination.

Makiko Maruyama

Director of Software QA & Release Management

With wide-ranging technical experience primarily in software QA and development, Makiko leads Luminary's Software QA team and is passionate about making continuous improvements for better quality. She is a classically trained pianist and loves playing the violin in a chamber music group as a learner.

Joe Hauke

Software QA Engineer

After demonstrating Luminary products around the world as part of the Field Sales team, Joe now specializes in providing technical support for Luminary creators. He is a lifelong piano player, musician, and producer who loves to cook spicy food and find hidden pubs in the countryside.

Sam Price

Product Manager

Sam has a background in composition, engraving, music tuition and project management. Since completing his undergrad and postgraduate degrees in music, Sam has worked on music projects for adverts, writing and recording with a string ensemble (for a Drum & Bass album) alongside scoring a puzzle app.

John Griffin

Internal Hardware Testing & Prototyping Manager

With past industry experience in Lighting and Furniture design, John oversees the repair and refurbishment of Luminary products whilst also aiding with in-house prototyping and proof of concept hardware. A veteran of the Hackney half marathon, he’s also a keen hiker having visited both Tasmania and New Zealand.

Having worked in the creative industry for most of my career, I have been privy to support and organise some of the most brilliant minds. Outside of work, you can find me teaching yoga, exploring, cooking and learning to DJ.

Luke Barton

Senior Commercial Director

Luke is responsible for driving growth by building consumer-insight driven marketing campaigns that inspire, engage, and resonate with Luminary's audiences across all channels. He also oversees ROLI.com, digital marketing, and e-commerce. He is an avid musician, playing experimental guitar in a number of projects – and once cycled from Brick Lane in London to Bangladesh for fun.

Tara Reddy

Chief Software Officer

Tara's passion is harnessing new technology to create useful and delightful consumer products. She previously co-founded a company called Loveshark that launched the world's first mobile dance game, built for Gen Z female players. Prior to this, she was a practicing veterinarian. She loves animals, golf and gaming.

Gordon Paul

Senior Embedded Software Engineer

Gordon completed a PhD in screen-printed wearable electronics then spent a decade in the medical and automotive sectors before joining Luminary. In his free time he enjoys playing musical instruments, watching cartoons and spending time with family and friends.

After studying Product Design at the RCA, Léa gained experience in Product and Graphic design before joining the Luminary team as a Graphic designer. She has a weird thing with electrical switches and she is often spotted at art exhibitions or enjoying live music.

With a wealth of experience across digital and graphic design, Matt has worked in a range of creative agencies on brands such as McLaren F1, Barclays, Umbro & Sky. He enjoys photography, reading and playing sports with his two kids.

Alberto García Roca

Content Manager

A music composition and sound engineering graduate, Alberto is a multi-instrumentalist who has spent years making music under the Alien Tango alias and playing around the world. He is part of the QA team and outside of Luminary he rarely stops creating, producing music, or editing videos.

Conall McGinty

Javascript Developer

After returning from living in Bahrain, Conall has mostly worked on systems that move crisps around. In his spare time, you can find him making music of questionable quality, teaching the next generation of creative coders, and injuring himself while making furniture

With degrees in Philosophy and Music Production, Marcus draws upon his experience as a freelance producer and musician in order to produce high-quality and inspiring sound content for Luminary creators. He loves woodwork, making jewelry, playing with synthesizers, and hanging out with his dog, Maya.

Xorge has fifteen years of experience in engineering. He is passionate about design, manufacturing and creating groundbreaking products. Xorge is also a salsa dancer and has a black belt in karate.

When Laurent began tinkering with sounds on the family computer in his teens, little did he know that this hobby would eventually turn into a career as an electronic music producer. After several albums and years of touring - Laurent decided to change tack and switched his focus to building the tools for fellow music makers. He still releases music today as ‘Little People'.

David has spent his entire career designing and developing products for the music and audio industry. It’s been his passion since he was a child. Originally from the United States, David and family moved to London in 2016 to experience this great city for all it has to offer. David also enjoys retro gaming, travel, cooking, and quality family time.

After studying Maths at the University of Cambridge, Adam released music and DJ'd as the artist "Multiplier". He then transitioned into sound design, video tutorials, and YouTube, building an audience of over 100k subscribers. When not in the studio, you'll find him rock climbing and mountain biking.

She has previous experience of working in operations at consultancies and healthcare tech start-ups. Luke started out playing in electronic bands and scoring music for film. He learnt to code for fun and found himself making musical apps (check out Blokdust which he created alongside two other people). When Luke's not working, he's attempting to be a masterchef and planning road trips.

With a degree in Sound Engineering and a PhD in Audio Signal Processing, Ryan has an extensive background in building tools to help people make music. He’s originally from the Lake District and spends most of his spare time walking the dog.

An Ecuadorian designer now working on the UX and UI of the LUMI app, Santiago has contributed to many areas over the years, from perfecting the first silicone keywaves on the Seaboard GRAND, to designing spatial projects including international events and the in-store experience.

After gaining a BSc in Design for Digital Media in Aberdeen, Chris moved to London and spent the next ten years building a career in web development with some of London's leading design agencies, before joining Luminary as part of the web team. Chris is a lifelong video gamer, and is partial to good food and good sleep.

Ian was selected to exhibit at the New Designers exhibition in London in 2015 with a new product and service proposal for sterilising baby feeding bottles. He can be found creating a touch of sustain on his guitar and has performed at the likes of Latitude and the Great Escape Festivals.

Financial & Operational Systems Manager

After working in publishing and music royalties, Marissa is now a valuable part of Luminary's finance team. She has an interest in biology and history, and is a voracious reader of both fiction and non-fiction, priding herself on being able to read a book a day.

Originally from New Zealand, Stephen realized his dream to move to London and is now busy developing new features for ROLI.com. An avid fan of heavy metal, his wardrobe consists almost entirely of band t-shirts.

A graduate of Oxford University & London School of Economics, Sophie builds Luminary's community of Creators, leading Luminary's global marketing team. She is also a Founder Governor of Hackney New School and a violinist and composer, performing as a soloist with artists as diverse as Paul Weller, Rufus Wainwright and the LSO.

With a creative and technical background in the games industry, Lewis now puts that to use while testing Luminary software. He’s a composer with a passion for exploring how people can experience and interact with music.

Already listed as an inventor on a patent in the EU and the US, Chris’ work focuses on the development of software and electronics for Luminary's next products. He has been DJing on vinyl turntables since he was a teenager.

Tahmima Anam

Executive Director

Trained as an anthropologist, Tahmima is an award-winning writer. She also writes a column for the International New York Times. She sits on the board of Luminary, coordinates senior recruitment, and heads woman-forward initiatives to the Luminary team and beyond.

Hailing from New Zealand, where she managed the country’s largest independent record label, Sharina is now head of Business systems at Luminary. She is obsessed with the making and sharing of food and loves music that makes her want to dance.
