We are a team of musicians, programmers, teachers, anthropologists, engineers, and artists dedicated to reimagining music learning and music creation through our integrated hardware and software. For over a decade, we have been creating a revolution in music making for professionals, and we bring that passion and spirit of adventure to our products for beginners and learners. We want your musical journey to be joyful, fun, and enriching.
We invent, design, develop and manufacture entirely new music-making devices. This includes the multi-award-winning Seaboard RISE--acclaimed as “the future of the keyboard,” and LUMI, the all-in-one system that makes piano learning fun. But new instruments are just the beginning. Our hardware-software platform provides unique content, lessons, and games to bring a joyful and engaging learning experience to every user.
To execute on our audacious vision, we are expanding our team of polymaths. If you have the ability to combine the creative mentality of an artist/maker with the analytical rigor of a scientist/engineer, we want to meet you!
Our values extend beyond our products and into our company culture. We believe that to create a more joyful and creative world, we must start with our own working culture and community. We cultivate habits and practices that help us each grow personally and professionally, as well as to continually develop as a diverse, multidisciplinary team. As we move into our most exciting period of growth yet, we are searching for people who share our mission to extend the journey of music making to everyone, who want to stretch their technical and professional skills to realize this mission, and who are able to help co-create a community that values diversity in myriad ways and seeks to positively transform our world.
We know that the process of applying for a job can often be long, unclear, and stressful. We truly appreciate your time and interest so we've put together some pieces of advice below to help you succeed.
Before applying, really consider whether or not the role is one that truly excites you and that Luminary is a company you believe in. We want potential team members to feel invigorated about joining Luminary specifically, and this consideration can help you craft the thoughtful application that's necessary to proceed to the next stage.
Please address all applications to our Director of People, Malina Leslie, and shape your application to the role you are applying for. It also never hurts to triple check your spelling and grammar!
We value specialists, but very much encourage polymaths to apply to join Luminary. Our team comes from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and industries, which we consider invaluable to the company’s success. The primary, secondary, and tertiary skill sets of our talented team members all combine to make Luminary an exciting and learning-rich company.
Please carefully read the job description and only apply if you feel that you have at least 70% of the required experience. If you don’t have 70% of the criteria just yet, keep checking back for a more suitable opportunity and continue to hone your skills. We suggest not applying unless you feel you are a suitable match to the description as we are unable to consider multiple applications within twelve months of your initial application.
If you want to work at Luminary, but don’t see a job description that is comparable to your skill set, please email our Talent Team at [email protected]. Let us know why you think you would be a great addition to the team and where you could add value.
We believe applications and interviews should be a conversation rather than a one-sided endeavour. Watch some of our videos, peruse our website, and check out our playLUMI and WeAreROLI Instagram accounts to find out if Luminary is right for you. If you’re a food-lover, check out our lunch Instagram at we.are.vaw (please note that our lunch offerings are currently adjusted due to the pandemic).
Team members at Luminary are curious. Ask us questions. Dig in!
